CleanALL.Bat

CleanALL.Bat

The most powerful batch file in this series, this free batch file combines the functions of Cleanup.Bat and WipeTIF.Bat; it can aggressively scrub your hard drive clean of many junk files, freeing up (typically) anywhere from tens to thousands of megabytes of otherwise-wasted disk space.

This file is specifically for Windows9x.

For WinME and NT/2K/XP, see this.

These files are part of a detailed series of articles on system maintenance in the LangaList newsletters and on the WinMag.Com site; those articles comprise the documentation and fully describe the purpose, use of, and precautions about this file. The articles are found here, here, here, here and here. DOS environment variables in particular are discussed here. If you have any trouble, please especially see this and this.

As the series progresses, these files are being enhanced, improved, and extended. Read the free LangaList Newsletter for details and to be sure you get the next version as soon as it becomes available!

(These files have been run successfully on tens of thousands of systems. But please note the cautions here; it is your responsibility to follow all instructions and to ensure that these files are OK to run on your particular system and setup. To that end, the above documentation links contain everything you need to know about the files.)

STEP ONE:
Read the above and then
Download CleanALL.Bat
and save it to your C:\ directory
(In some browsers, you may need to right-click on the above link and select
'save link as...')

STEP TWO:
Download CleanALL.PIF
and also save it to your C:\ directory

(In some browsers, you may need to right-click on the above link and select
'save link as...')

STEP THREE:
Use NotePad (or a similar text editor) to open and read the contents of C:\CleanALL.Bat to ensure the commands and structure are OK to run on your particular setup.

STEP FOUR:
If the file is OK to run on your system, double-click on C:\CleanALL.Bat and enjoy your new-found disk space!

Very Cool Extra:
Integrate CleanALL.Bat
into your Recycle Bin menu!
