“What are some good hiking spots around Boston that I can access by public transportation?”<\/p>\n

Some of my favorites:<\/p>\n

Middlesex Fells Reservation<\/a>, 2,200 acres (890 ha) of woods, hills, and lakes north of the city. Many access points; depending on where you want to go, you can use the T Orange Line or buses; and, of course, Lyft and Uber.<\/p>\n

Blue Hills Reservation<\/a>, 6,000-acre (2,400 ha) featuring Great Blue Hill (highest point in the area). Many access points; depending on where you want to go, you can use the T Red Line or buses; and, of course, Lyft and Uber.<\/p>\n

Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area<\/a>; with Spring to Fall hiking trails, swimming, and oceanside camping; accessible via ferry from several departure points, including Long Wharf, just off the Aquarium stop on the T’s Blue Line.<\/p>\n

Boston Harborwalk<\/a>; 47 miles (76 km) of public pathways along the immediate waterfront from East Boston to Neponset, south of the city. Multiple public-transit access points all along its length.<\/p>\n
