For example: From <a aria-label=\"NASA (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/newhorizons\/main\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NASA<\/a>; and <a aria-label=\"Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_Horizons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wikipedia<\/a>; and <a aria-label=\"Johns Hopkins University (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/pluto.jhuapl.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Johns Hopkins University<\/a> ; and <a aria-label=\"many other sources (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=new+horizons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many other sources<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather, this is about a fascinating backstory of how Ultima Thule came to be found: A challenge much worse than finding the proverbial &#8216;needle in a haystack.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was more like finding a firefly in a forest fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When scientists went looking for a post-Pluto target for New Horizons, they had to look <em>through the plane of the galaxy<\/em>.
