{"id":2855,"date":"2019-05-29T07:00:08","date_gmt":"2019-05-29T11:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/langa.com\/?p=2855"},"modified":"2019-05-24T15:30:13","modified_gmt":"2019-05-24T19:30:13","slug":"is-it-true-that-keeping-your-battery-between-40-and-80-makes-your-battery-have-a-longer-lifespan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/langa.com\/index.php\/2019\/05\/29\/is-it-true-that-keeping-your-battery-between-40-and-80-makes-your-battery-have-a-longer-lifespan\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Is it true that keeping your battery between 40% and 80% makes your battery have a longer lifespan?&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yes, absolutely, although the usual rule is 80\/20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A li-ion battery is stressed the most during the top and bottom 20% of its charging range; and the closer to 100% or 0% you get, the greater the stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, charging from 99% to 100% is way harder on a battery than charging from 49% to 50%, even though both deliver 1% charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(You can feel it in the excess heat the battery produces when it&#8217;s charged very high or discharged very low). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s fine to use the full capacity of your battery when you need it \u2014 that&#8217;s what it&#8217;s there for.
