Store it the same way it probably arrived from the factory: with about a 30%-40% charge, which is the “sweet-spot” for long-term storage with minimal self-discharge for LI-ion batteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once charged to around 40%, carefully pack the battery in nonconductive material (e.g. a cardboard box), and then let it sit in a cool, dry place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Believe it or not, a refrigerator at around 40F\/4C is a great place to store batteries, as long as they\u2019re never frozen; are well protected from liquids and condensation; and are allowed to warm naturally\/passively to normal room temperature before re-use.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
