The “ \u0b83 <\/strong>” glyph is used in mathematics and logic to symbolize \u201cthus\u201d or \u201ctherefore\u201d in the same way that the ” =<\/strong> ” glyph is used to symbolize “equality” or \u201cequals.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But you’d never use ” =<\/strong> ” in a normal written sentence to replace the word “equality,” right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look how weird it is: “Dr. Martin Luther King worked for racial =.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using it in place of “equal” also is weird: “The Prime Minister is said to be ‘first among =s’.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0b83<\/strong> , er, I mean, therefore<\/strong><\/em> (see how weird it looks?) you’d also never use \u0b83<\/strong> (or most of the other specialized symbols from a myriad of professions) in standard written English typed on standard keyboards, either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
