Your battery&#8217;s case did its job &#8212; it contained the gases so far &#8212; but at very high internal pressure (hence the swelling).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, your battery\u2019s near-failure has turned it into a toxic firebomb, ready to go off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you keep using the battery, cross your fingers.
