There are three main drains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The Screen<\/strong>, with three major subcategories: brightness<\/strong>, pixel density<\/strong> (e.g. HD, FHD, 4K, etc.), and refresh rate<\/strong>. In all cases, lower settings yield better battery life.
    <\/li>
  2. The Radios<\/strong> — voice, cellular data<\/strong> (3G\/4G\/5G, etc.), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC,<\/strong> etc. — all consume power; sometimes even when you’re not actively using them. Turn off radios you’re not using, or use Airplane Mode to disable them all.

  3. The Apps.<\/strong> To see what apps eat the most battery on your phone, open Settings<\/strong> and search for “Battery usage<\/strong>.” You’ll see something like the image below, listing all your recently-used apps in order of battery drain:<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    So, for maximum run-time between battery recharges, manage your screen<\/strong>‘s settings towards the low end; limit or prevent radio<\/strong> use; and uninstall, replace, avoid, or limit any apps<\/strong> that consume more power than you think they’re worth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
