Note: It only takes a minute to find out who\u2019s behind just about any<\/strong> online presence or offering. Just use any of the many free whois<\/strong><\/a> (\u201cwho is\u2026?\u201d) services.<\/p>\n

For example, I used the free ICANN whois service<\/a> to see that that the “adaware.com” domain is registered to Lavasoft, through GoDaddy. A further quick Wikipedia search tells you all about LavaSoft: Lavasoft – Wikipedia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So, next time you\u2019re wondering who\u2019s behind a website or online product, use the whois service of your choice<\/strong><\/a> to see what\u2019s what and who\u2019s who.<\/p>\n
