This week’s new AskWoody Plus newsletter is out; and for now you can read it for free, online. Here’s what’s inside issue 16.6.0:
- In the Langalist‘s “Should you trust a hard drive after a major error?,” I show you how to tell if a hard drive is still trustworthy after a significant event.
- In Woody’s Windows Watch, Woody Leonhard sends “Dispatches from the browser-war’s front lines“
- In Patch Watch, Susan Bradley discusses “Japan has its Y2K moment”
- In Best Practices, Deanna McElveen‘s Freeware Spotlight covers “MultiPack Visual C++ Installer“
- Previous issues are archived here.
What’s this about? Woody Leonhard has launched a new newsletter that’s very much cast in the mold of the classic Windows Secrets newsletter, with the latest articles on Microsoft Windows, PC maintenance, security, best apps, smartphones, and other important computing topics.
Many of the original Windows Secrets gang have signed on, including Woody himself, Susan Bradley, Tracy Capen, myself, and others.
Eventually, the AskWoody Plus newsletter will be by subscription, but for now it’s open and free to all!
